heys guys,
it was an amazing trip...i wish i could go back. so ill just give the trip in a day by day summary kinda thing..
Friday- Left to go to the church at 4ish, left the church at 5am, then we took a coach bus up to the minneapolis airport, then we flew to Las Vegas and had lunch(didn't gamble though, wish i woulda), then we flew the rest off the way to San Diego, that afternoon we went to mission beach to swim in the ocean for awile...wow it was amazing the difference in temp. from the inland to the beach- at the beach it would never go over 70 degress, but on the inland it could be in the 90's...weird...Then a group of 6 of us ate a 30 inch pizza...wow...we finished it to. Then we headed back to the church to have evening worship..then we said our goodnights and went off to bed...
Saturday- Woke up had breakfast(girls got to eat first cuz the guys didnt have a clean bathroom), then we headed out the door for a full day at the San Diego zoo...wow was it amazing...my favorite animal probably would of been the panda bear or the koala bears..but all in all it was a great expirence...then we headed back to the church and had evening worship again and headed off to bed...
Sunday- woke up and went to the morning service at the church we were staying at...we got tons of applasal from the pastor...we filled up the little church to the last chair..Then after that we headed off to Mission beach again..this day was filled of more of going around and buying some souvenirs and just hanging around...i had to go out and by a new towel cuz i forgot mine in my luggage...but i went out and got a awesome american flag one which said San Diego, California on it...then we finally headed off to the church were we would spend the next 5-6 days in...of the two church groups we were the first ones there, which was good because we got to pick were we wanted to sleep...which was better because our church brought around 55 people while the church from Oregon brought only 17 or so...They were a really young group, average age about 14...i thought it would be very difficult to get along with then, but i was underestimated by some of the maturity levels i saw in some of then, others were very immature though...but all in all they were a good group...
Monday-Thursday- We would wake up, have breakfast, having our morning devotions time and then we would have prayer before we headed out to our ministry sites...I was lucky...In the morning i would head out to the Joan Kroc center where i got to help underpriveliged kids ageing from 3-5 years old...Our morning included playing, teaching, reading, eating, and just hanging out and having with the kids...it was a blessing to see how the kids would just run up to you and give you a hug...i could see in ther eyes that at home they may not get all of the love in the world, but with us being there, they figured us to be as an adult figure and would give you all the love they had...which touched my heart...Then in the afternoon we would head back to the church and eat lunch and prepare gift packages for the homeless, my group would go out and give these gift bags and talk to the homeless, all of my stereotypes about the homeless are gone.. They are the most loving people you could meet, all they want is love and attention, because they lack the comforts of life everyday, and to see me or one of the other youth go up to them and just want to talk touched their hearts..they would tell us there whole life story in about 10-20 minutes...They are just wonderful people who made one mistake in their life...But very loving... Then we would come back and head off to the showers(which was awesome because we showered every other day in New York, plus showered at 5 am.) But this year we got to shower every day at around 3-4 pm. Then we would head back to the church, have dinner, then we would get ready and go out for the evening activity set up by youthworks. we went to 2 beaches, balboa park, and then we all went out wednesday to help the homeless again...Then when we got back to the church we would have club-where we would pray, sing, and just praise god..which was wonderful. Then we would head off to bed...
Friday-(what a long day) we woke up, packed our things to leave and brought them out to the vans... then we had breakfast and getting our t-shirts signed by the youthworks staff..my favorite would have to be Brandon..kyle and I thought of him as our third brother, we even considered with him to bring him home with us and adopt him...for fun though....but ill get to see more of him because he goes to college right up in minneapolis, at northwestern..so that will be great...then we headed out for last minute shoppin...i got some more shirts....5 for $10 is a great deal. Then we headed off to the airport where we first found out our plane had been delayed for 2 hours...we found out there was a severe thunderstorm warning over the rockies so our flight could not leave the other airport yet...so we just chilkled for a little bit, then found out our plane was delayed for 4 hours and we would miss our connector flight in Phoenix..so we would have to go in a hotel and leave on another flight the next day to finally go home...so we got a free dinner set up by the airport, and finally headed off to phoenix, when we got to the airport, the schedule said there was info about our flight, but then it triggerd that they plane had takin off...but then the airport said that the other plane had difficulties and they got a new one and we were just in time to make it...so we all ran down to the plane and loaded to go home... a relirf for some but a short ended vacation for others...finally got home at about 6 am saturday...and just crashed at home after pulling an all nighter...
But One thing i have to add...this trip went the world to me in manyways, but one sticks out from others...I finally met someone who could touch my heart and make me feel whole...After a whole week of spending time together and getting closer, we finally made it official...I am dating one of the most beautiful girls, with a heart pure of gold, and cant forget the cutest smile...Breanna Auringer....I know you'll read this sooner or later, but i just need to add how special you are to me and how no matter how sad i am, you can put a smile on my face, you brighten my day...
Overall it was the best trip i have ever had...Memories of the trip will keep me going forever..
I love you all,
God Bless

Good deeds and great times
The trip sounds great and stereotypes are brutal there is always more there you just have to be willing to see. Treat her as well as i know you can man she deserves is and even we are not going out anymore I still consider her one of the truely life changing things that has affected my life. She opened my eyes and heart in many ways. I wish you two the best of luck.July 21 2005, 19:00:07 UTC 6 years ago
